RESPONSE SURFACE METHODS EASY, ENJOYABLE WITH NEW BOOK

New York… The literature choices are very academic for individuals who want to learn Response Surface Methods (RSM), the advanced tool for Design of Experiments (DOE). But this situation will change dramatically this month with the release of a new book from Productivity Press, RSM Simplified.

In RSM Simplified — Optimizing Processes Using Response Surface Methods for Design of Experiments, authors Mark J. Anderson and Patrick J. Whitcomb use their patented, "Keep It Simple and Make It Fun" (KISMIF) approach for learning and implementing this powerful statistical tool. With RSM Simplified, the reader who may not know much (or care) about statistics will still be able to use RSM to achieve peak potential for their product quality, develop process efficiency, quickly solve manufacturing problems and make breakthrough discoveries. KISMIF keeps formulas to a minimum and makes liberal use of figures, charts, graphs and checklists. Many relevant examples, amusing sidebars and fun do-it-yourself exercises are also included.

Also included with the text is Design-Expert version 7 software. With it, the reader can perform complex statistical computations, generate necessary graphics (2D and 3D maps) and perform the numerical optimization. The fully functional software is limited to 180 days of use from the time of installation on a reader's Window-based PC. To help readers learn how to use the software, several tutorials in Adobe PDF along with Adobe Acrobat Reader are included.

The audience for RSM Simplified includes not only people who are put off by the academic nature of competing books, but also technical professionals who do industrial experimentation. The text is also invaluable for Six Sigma Black Belts who must master high-level statistical tools.

List price is $50.00. Complimentary review copies are available to media contacts by calling (212) 216-7865 or by e-mailing: leon.carter@taylorandfrancis.com.
